This years Kildare Scór finals are fast approaching, with the 18th Feb in Allenwood being the big day.

While a number of clubs are enthusiastic annual participants in Scór, there are still quite a number of Kildare clubs who are notable by their absence. This is a real pity, as Scór is a fantastic way to add an extra dimension to your clubs activities. It encourages participation from members who may not be so enthusiastic about football or hurling, or indeed, from members whose playing days are behind them. Scór takes place during the winter months, so it’s an excellent way to keep members engaged after the boots have been put away for the year. The social element to Scór is another fantastic aspect. Getting together, meeting friends, making new ones, all while dancing, singing or acting…is there a better way to spend an evening!?
And let’s not forget you also have the chance to bring home a County, Leinster or even an All Ireland title to your club!

The video below (it’s only 5 minutes!) explores some of these benefits and is worth a look.

I would encourage all clubs to look at exploring participation in Scór and Scór na nÓg. If you haven’t participated in a while, start small…enter a quiz team, a solo singer or a recitation act. The first step is often the hardest.
