Dancing with the Stars and Strictly Come Dancing joins forces for Sallins GAA!
Dancing with the Stars competitor, Alannah Beirne, has signed up to judge Sallins GAA Strictly Come Dancing in Citywest Hotel on Saturday, March 31st. Alannah will join Johnny Doyle and Red Hurley to mark the cards of 19 couples taking to the stage.
The dancers have been practising since January with legendary dance teacher Norma Hurley and will take to the stage in groups to perform the jive, cha cha, Charleston, salsa, and the Paso Doble.
Last year, over 1,000 people attended the event, helping Sallins GAA to raise €25,000.
Tickets cost €25 and are now available from Flanagans Mill, The Bridgewater Inn, Nolan’s Butchers, Marrons, and Supervalu, as well as from all dancers, committee members, or call Gavin 086 8617771.
Bus tickets, which cost €10 return, are available from Nolan’s Butchers, Gina in The Mill/Lock 13, and Alicia Kirwan.
Club Chairman Eddie Humphreys says: “The majority of funds raised will go towards the costs of recruiting a Games Promotion Officer (GPO). We want to give our underage players the best opportunity to develop their skills both on and off the field of play and the GPO will help us achieve this goal.
“We have almost 40 dancers participating in the Strictly event and we hope everyone comes out and supports them, they have put in a serious amount of effort and you will not be disappointed when you see them in action.”
