The Kildare U16 Football Development squad travelled to Aughrim Co. Wicklow last Sat 13th May to take on the Garden County in their first competitive outing of the year.

In a very competitive game Kildare emerged victorious on a scoreline of 1-15 to 3-8. The full panel were rotated over the course of the game with a view to giving each player game time on the day.

Pitch training and gym work continues on a weekly basis and the squad are looking forward to the Carlow Cup competition held over the month of July next.

Thanks to mentors Padraig Carbury, Oliver O Kelly, Cormac O Donovan and Pat Johnson for their continued work with this very professional group of players.

Also beginning their season last Saturday were the U15 football squads who were at home in Hawkfield against Meath. The Kildare teams emerged victorious in both their games on the day and continued their improvement and development under the guidance of their mentors Colin Ward, Liam Carroll, Jim Bergin and Mickey McGuigan.
