After Sunday’s victory over Westmeath, Kildare now sit at the top of the Division 2A Table of the Allianz Hurling League. After a remarkable team display, three Kildare players were recognised for their individual efforts against the Lake County. After a strong display in goals that saw him keep a clean sheet, despite some relentless pressure from the Westmeath forward line, Paul Dermody made the Hogan Stand Team of the Week. Top scorer David Reidy and joint Captain John Doran made the GAA Team of the Week.
Next up is a trip to Ballycastle, where Joe Quaid’s charges will face Antrim. The Saffrons opened up their Division 2A account defeating London, while last weekend they were held to a draw by Carlow. This will be a tough test for Kildare as Antrim will no doubt have their sights firmly set on a league final appearance last year.
