Senior (Over 17s) Scór County finals will be held on Sunday March 24th in Allenwood GAA hall. The Quiz will start at 6:30pm, with all other competitions starting at 7:30pm.
I would strongly encourage all clubs to take part.
There are eight sections in Scór: Céilí Dancing, Solo Singing, Recitation, Group Ballad, Novelty Act, Instrumental Music, Set Dancing and Quiz Team.
All clubs are invited to submit acts in one or more of the 8 divisions. The winners go through to represent Kildare in the Leinster semi-finals, and then, if successful, the Leinster final.
Winners in the Leinster finals then represent club, county and province in the All-Ireland finals. The format is the same through each of these rounds. The GAA President presents medals to the winners of the All-Ireland.
Each club has an Irish and Culture Officer. He/she is responsible for promoting Scór (and Irish) in the club. This person is usually the one who organises teams, mentors, etc.
I would strongly encourage all clubs to make a serious effort at taking part. Scór can be a huge social outlet for club member who do not physically play football or hurling, and is a fantastic addition to any clubs repertoire.
