Fáilte roimh chách to the inaugural Kildare GAA Weekly Bulletin and I hope you are keeping safe and well. It is hoped this forum will provide snippets of Kildare GAA related items along with player profiles, match previews / reviews & various articles of interest as the year progresses.
The first County Committee Meeting of 2021 took place on Tuesday. Cyril Kevlihan (Naas) was appointed as Minor Football Manager and will be joined by selectors Chris Carey (Two Mile House), Tom Moran (Rheban), Ray Kiernan (Clane) & James Devane (Straffan). The Sub-Committees were 2021 were also ratified and can be found on kildaregaa.ie. Bord na nÓg & the CCC are currently awaiting guidance from the GAA Covid Advisory group as to when collective training / games etc can re-commence.
A reminder that Player Regrading forms are to be submitted to CCC by 5pm on Friday 19th February. Clubs still involved in the Adult Hurling and Adult Football Championships 2020 will be asked to submit their Regrading once those competitions have been completed. Also Club Amalgamation Form 2021 are also due to be submitted before the March County Board Meeting.
The Kildare GAA Coaching & Games team will be conducting online GAA / PE sessions throughout the month of February. Keep an eye out on the Kildare GAA Coaching & Games Twitter account for registration details.
The Kildare Hurling Goalkeeper Pathway will be launched to Clubs on 18th February. Feedback has been positive so far and it would be great to see all Clubs tuning in on the night. Webinar details will be issued to Clubs in the coming days.
A “Diversity & Inclusion Online” Webinar series along with a “Changing Gears” Webinar series will take place every Tuesday in February. Registration details for this very useful Health & Wellbeing HSE driven events can be found on our official website.
Due to the pandemic the 2021 National Club Draw has been postponed to 4th June 2021 to enable Clubs sell tickets when public health restrictions are lifted. Revised information regarding the draw can be found on the GAA website GAA.ie.
A reminder that the closing date for 2020/2021 Sports Capital Grants has been deadline extended to 1st March @ 5pm.

Ardclough & Sallins were both recently awarded The Joe McDonagh Bronze Medal for their promotion of the Irish Language within their Clubs in 2020 – Comhghairdeas!!
Condolences to the family and friends of Jimmy Cummins (Moorefield) and John Miller (Grangenolvan) both of whom passed away in the last week. Jimmy won an O’Byrne Cup medal in 1962 and John was a member of the All Ireland winning U21 team in 1965.
