St. Conleth’s Park ‘Everyone has a Story’

“I have had some good days and some bad days in St.Conleth’s but my best day was 27th September 2015 when my club Castlemitchell GFC won the Junior Championship after a long wait. The great memories of that day and night will never be forgotten in our little club. The photo I have enclosed is after the final whistle and it’s of my Daddy Mick, sisters Aisling and Grainne and our legend of a friend Mairead Byrne.
Mairead passed away 17 months ago and has left a huge void in all our lives. I’m sending this photo today as it would have been Mairead’s 40th birthday. We were so lucky to have Mairead and her cousin John Wall (RIP ) with us on our best day in St.Conleth’s” Caitriona Fennin

St. Conleth’s Park holds many happy memories for us but this moment was definitely our favourite. After years of knocking on the door Castlemitchell had finally won the Kildare Junior Football Championship Final. Pictured are Caitriona, Mick, Aisling & Grainne Fennin with best pal & Castlemitchell stalwart Mairead Byrne. Many things have changed since this great day and we miss Mairead terribly but the memories of St. Conleth’s Park that day will live long in the memory of Castlemitchell supporters far and wide for a long time to come.
